(9/25) MPD/Walgreens Flu Clinic - Main Street

Friday, September 25, 2020, 2:00 PM

Hello Everyone, For those who don't know me, my name is Jacob Beaty and I am the Service Chair for Phi Delta Chi. I am happy to announce that Phi Delta Chi is partnering with Walgreens to help administer flu vaccines at some of their local vaccination clinics. All shifts, except for a couple, are 2 hours long with 2 available slots and you are required to work the entire shift that you sign up for. If you sign up for a shift and can't make it for whatever reason, you are responsible for finding someone to fill your spot. Note: This event involves administering vaccinations, therefore you are required to have obtained an Immunization Certification prior to participating in this event. This means that only P1's that are Immunization Certified will be able to participate in these events. I recommend everyone review material for administering vaccines and proper technique. These events are NOT Underserved. When to arrive: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your shift. What to bring: You need to bring your white coats and a face shield. If you have your own that's fine, although I have some face shields for those that don't have their own yet and these will need to be disinfected at the end of each shift. You can either wear scrubs or dress in professional attire with your white coats. Masks will be provided, but it would be best to arrive wearing a mask if possible. Don't forget to bring your Immunization Administration Record sheet for PPD so that you can document your immunizations and get the pharmacists signature. Be sure to review the specific instructions for filling out this record beforehand so that everything is documented correctly. Students Role Description: 1. Arrive at the flu events on time 2.
